ETCHINGS (2010): In response to an invitation to produce a Stations of the Cross for St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., I worked with the renowned printmaker Clemens Büntig (former assistant to master printer Aldo Crommelynck, Picasso’s last printer) in the winter of 2009 to produce an initial set of dry point etchings. Over the following year-and-a-half we closely collaborated using the spit bite aquatint technique to obtain a particular quality of light in the grounds of the final plates for the set of fifteen Stations, produced in an edition of twenty-two etchings.
