MONOPRINTS (2013): The biblical book of Genesis mentions two trees in the Garden of Eden—the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge—which together offered inspiration for this series of monoprints. I worked closely with master printmaker Francesco Siqueiros, the founder of El Nopal Press in Los Angeles, to create a series of sixty-seven monoprints, variations on the form of a single tree. In the course of production Siqueiros suggested collecting a selection of the prints into a unique artist’s book comprised of twenty-six monoprints titled Tree of Knowing, which was subsequently gifted to Pope Francis.
