The world premier exhibition of Lucas Reiner’s The Stations is being presented by the Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture in Chicago, opening February 27 and on display through May 31, 2023.
Serving as a contemporary contemplative reflection on the timeless path of transformation, The Stations paintings engage the profound capacity of art to embody a universal human longing to comprehend suffering, loss, and the passage of time, transcending religious affiliation to embrace an expanded vision of empathy in peaceful accord with nature.
Concurrently, the Athenaeum will also be presenting Reiner’s short film titled Trees in Los Angeles, which was shot in 8mm black and white film in collaboration with cinematographer/editor Heather Seybolt at the invitation of the Silverlake Film Festival held in Los Angeles. In addition, a special musical component produced especially for The Stations exhibition will be presented, featuring Leo Major with Reiner’s two daughters, Livia and Rose Reiner.
