The series was installed February 2020 in the nave of the church for Lenten services.
Justice Thurgood Marshall was a longtime member of the racially and economically diverse Saint Augustine’s. The recently rebuilt church, by architect Michael Foster of MTFA Architecture, provides wall space for art that are ideal for the framed etchings. The Stations join the church’s long history of providing gallery and performance space for local and international artists. They currently partner with Arena Stage, Dance USA, Shirli Hughes and Ovation, DC Strings and the SW Chamber Players, Blue’s Alley, and the Capital Fringe Festival.
